Internet Access

There are five internet computers available for regular internet browsing in half hour increments to a maximum of 120 minutes per day (sessions will automatically extend if no one else is waiting for the computer). This service is available for holders of valid PPL library cards, Internet only cards and BC One Cards. Printing is available for 25 cents per page. USB devices may be used on these computers.

There is one express internet computer that is available for a 15 minute session with no extensions. USB is not enabled on this computer.

Reservations may be made using the PCReservation system in the library. Sorry no phone reservations for Internet stations. Visitors to Penticton will need to see the information desk staff to purchase a 1 hour guest pass.

Word Processing

There is one computer available for word processing. It runs on the Windows XP platform and is equipped with Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point Presentation. This computer is not to be used for browsing the Internet.

It may be booked for 1 hour at a time. See the information desk staff to reserve this computer. Using this station will count towards your 120 minutes of daily computer time. If no one is waiting, your time on the word processor will be extended. Phone reservations are available for this computer. Please call the information desk at 250-770-7782.

You may bring in your own 3.5" floppy disk, or purchase one at the library for $1.50. USB devices may be used on this computer. CD burning is not available.

Printing is available for 25 cents per page.

Wireless Access

PPL now has wireless access during business hours. Patrons will need to register the first time they access this service. For instructions on how to register, please see staff at the information desk. Access to AC power is limited, so please make sure your battery is charged.

PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR LAPTOP UNATTENDED IN THE LIBRARY.
